GPCA™ Jeep Wrangler JK Accessories Guide

This guide shows which GPCA™ gear fits your Jeep Wrangler JK by door count and top. The JK (2007–2018) predates the airbag roll bars that start in 2024, so the same grab handles fit every JK, and the big choices are the cargo cover and the hardtop hardware.

Anchor PRO note: the 6-pack with nuts is for the JK (2007–2018); the 6-pack without nuts is for the JL. The Freedom Pack fitment follows the cargo cover in the pack, and the cargo organizer fits 2007 to present. Not sure whether your 2018 is a JK or a JL? 2018 is the changeover year, so check the model, and see the Jeep Wrangler JL guide if it is a JL.

Which grab handle for a JK

Side-curtain airbags in the roll bar start with the 2024 model year Wrangler JL and Gladiator JT. A JK (2007–2018) has none of that, so the GP-Grip PRO fits it on the front and rear bars, tool-free, and the GP-Grip Universal fits any roll bar without an airbag. The GP-Grip AIR is built only for the 2024+ airbag bars. The GP-Grip PRO adds the utility pouch and the secret pocket, which the Universal does not have.

Install

GP-Grip PRO (JK): 1–2 minutes per handle, no tools

  1. Open the handle (flip it up) and place it on the roll bar with the arrow-end toward the rear of the Jeep. The secret-pocket side faces down, inside the Jeep.
  2. Thread the straps through the handle slots, and through the utility pouch loops if the pouch is attached. Wrap the straps over the roll bar and close the Velcro on top of the bar.
  3. Fold the handle up into its use position, pull the straps tight and press the Velcro down firmly. The handle should be snug and not move.

Nothing is drilled or bolted into the vehicle. The same handle fits the driver side, the passenger side and the rear sport bar.

Anchor PRO and GP-Star bolts

  1. Remove the factory hardtop bolts with a Torx T40.
  2. Put the rubber washer in first, against the body, then the metal washer, and thread in the GPCA™ bolt (M8-1.25 × 25 mm) by hand.
  3. Hand-tighten until snug, 158 in-lb; snug it like a bike seat post, don't crank it.

Under the tub edge, many JK hardtops have 6 plastic and metal retainers that hold the hardware, so you do not need to hold nuts. If your hardtop has no retainers, hold the nuts under the tub edge and line them up while you snug each bolt.

JK 4-door cargo cover

  1. Remove the 6 hardtop Torx screws (T40) along the tub.
  2. Fit the anchors. On a JK the D-plates slide under the rim: hold the plate flat against the tub from underneath so the bolt catches, then tighten.
  3. Attach the straps to the anchors or D-rings, front straps near the back seat first, then the rear corners at the tailgate.
  4. Tighten evenly and in steps, and check that the cover sits level and does not catch on anything.

Does the GP-Grip AIR fit a 2007–2018 JK?

No. The GP-Grip AIR is built for the airbag roll bars on the 2024+ Wrangler JL (all 4 positions) and the 2024+ Gladiator JT (2 front positions). A JK takes the GP-Grip PRO or the GP-Grip Universal.

Why is the GP-Grip PRO titled JK (2007–2023) when the JK ended in 2018?

The span is intentional. The same GP-Grip PRO fits every Wrangler from 2007 to 2023: the JK (2007–2018) and the JL (2018–2023), plus the pre-2024 Gladiator JT. From the 2024 model year the roll bar has side-curtain airbags and the Jeep needs the GP-Grip AIR.

Does the GP-Grip Universal fit a JK roll bar?

Yes. The GP-Grip Universal fits roll or sport bars from 0.75 to 5.5 in. that have no airbag, and a JK roll bar has none. The GP-Grip PRO is the JK-specific handle, with the utility pouch and the secret pocket that the Universal does not have.

Will my JK hardtop need nuts for the Anchor PRO 6-pack?

The JK 6-pack comes with nuts. Many JK hardtops have 6 plastic and metal retainers under the tub edge that hold the hardware, so you do not need to hold nuts. If your hardtop has no retainers, hold the nuts under the tub edge and line them up while you snug each bolt.

Which Torx bit removes the factory hardtop bolts on a JK?

A Torx T40. A JL uses a T50. After the first install, the Anchor PRO and GP-Star quick-release bolts need no tools.

Which JK cargo cover can I use with the top off?

Only the JK 4DR Cargo Cover PRO is made for highway-speed topless driving, because its double-layer build does not flap. The JK 4DR Cargo Cover LITE and the JK 2DR Cargo Cover are for use under a hard or soft top.
