GP-Grip Handles — Frequently Asked Questions
GRIP AIR (2024+ Jeep)
What is the GP Grip Air?
Advanced foldable grab handle for 2024+ Jeep Wrangler — airbag-safe, aero-grade aluminum, engineered to route around side curtain airbags.
What are the key features?
Folds flat when not in use. Solid no-swing grip — unlike strap handles. Designed specifically for 2024+ JL and Gladiator with airbag-equipped roll bars.
GRIP PRO (2007–2023 Jeep)
What is the GP Grip PRO?
Foldable aero-grade aluminum grab handle for Jeep Wrangler JK, JL (2007–2023), and JT Gladiator. Mounts on driver and passenger roll bars with no drilling.
What are the key features?
Folds away when not in use. No-swing patented design — unlike plastic strap handles. Includes a hidden storage pocket.
GRIP UNIVERSAL (Any Vehicle)
What is the GP-Grip Universal?
Reinforced nylon grab handle for any vehicle with roll bars, sport bars, or tubular frames — Jeep, Bronco, trucks, UTVs, and more.
What vehicles does it fit?
Compatible with virtually any vehicle with bars measuring 0.75" to 5.5" in diameter. Truly universal.
BACK GRIP (Any Vehicle with Headrests)
What is the GP Back Grip?
Solid aero-grade aluminum grab handle that attaches to any vehicle's headrest posts — gives rear passengers a secure grip on trails. Works on Jeep, Bronco, Tesla, trucks, and more.
What are the key features?
Durable aluminum construction. Cushioned grip strap. Compatible with removable and non-removable headrests.
Which Handle Should I Choose?
Which handle is airbag-safe for 2024+ Jeep Wrangler?
The GP-Grip AIR — the only GPCA handle designed to route around the side curtain airbag in 2024+ Wrangler and Gladiator roll bars.
Which handle has a hidden storage pocket?
The GP-Grip PRO — includes a concealed utility pouch built into the handle body.
Does the GP-Grip fit the Sky One-Touch Power Top?
No. The roll-bar space under the Sky One-Touch is too tight for the GP-Grip PRO or AIR. For Sky One-Touch owners, the GP Back-Grip PRO mounts to the front headrests instead — no roll-bar clearance needed: gpca.com/products/gp-back-grip-pro
Does the GP-Grip work on a Ford Bronco?
The roll-bar GP-Grip handles (PRO/AIR) are designed for Jeep roll bars and don't fit the Bronco's geometry. For Bronco, the GP Back-Grip PRO is the go-to — headrest-mounted, no drilling, fits any Bronco: gpca.com/products/gp-back-grip-pro
Do I need tools to install?
The GP-Grip PRO and Universal are completely tool-free — Velcro strap, 1–2 minutes. The GP-Grip AIR (2024+ models) requires a Torx screwdriver. Full install video: youtube.com/c/gpcaofficial
Will installation damage my Jeep? Do I need to drill?
No drilling at all. The GP-Grip PRO wraps around the existing roll bar with a Velcro strap system — zero modification, completely reversible. The AIR uses existing factory mounting points on the 2024+ roll bar padding.
Can the driver use the GP-Grip too?
Absolutely. Drivers use it to stabilize on tough terrain at low speed, check tire placement over the side without fighting the steering wheel, and stay controlled on rocks and ruts. Not just for passengers.
GP Back-Grip — Additional Questions
Will the Back-Grip damage my headrests or seat?
No. Car and truck headrests and seats are engineered for forces far greater than a grab handle — they're built for on/off-road driving dynamics and different weights in all directions. The Back-Grip is well within what they're designed for.
My vehicle already has a B-pillar grab handle — why would I need the Back-Grip?
The B-pillar handle is mounted to the side of the door frame — it helps getting in or out, but it doesn't help once you're on the trail. The Back-Grip mounts to the headrest posts, centered and in front of the rear passenger. Reaching sideways to a door handle and gripping forward/center are biomechanically different — especially for pulling yourself to the center of the seat on rough terrain. The Back-Grip wins for off-road stability.
Can I mount the Back-Grip on a front seat headrest?
Yes — many customers mount it on the front face of the front seat headrest so rear passengers have a solid pull point. You can even double-mount — driver side and passenger side front headrests — so everyone in the back is covered at the same time.
Carabiners & EDC Multi-Tools — Frequently Asked Questions
What are the differences between PRO X, PRO, LITE, X GRIP, and LOOP?
PRO X / PRO add integrated screwdrivers over the LITE. X GRIP adds a bottle opener and extra grip zone. LOOP is a minimalist keyring-style version. All share the same modular ecosystem and accessories.
What material grades are used?
Aluminum 6061 (aero-grade, anodized — same grade as iPhones). Stainless Steel 420 (hardened). Titanium TC4 (aerospace-grade, dark metallic satin finish). Steel and Titanium maintain their look best over time.
Is the GPCA Carabiner rated for climbing?
No. GPCA Carabiners are EDC and tactical-grade — not rated for climbing or fall arrest. Static load is 200 lbs for steel and titanium, 120–150 lbs for aluminum. Built for keys, gear organizing, and everyday adventure — not vertical use. For climbing, you need a CE/UIAA certified carabiner.
Can I take my GPCA Carabiner on a plane?
The X GRIP is TSA-ready out of the box — no blade module. The LITE, PRO, and PRO X KEY need the blade removed with a Torx T8 before carry-on — a 2-minute swap. Fully carry-on friendly after that. Note: TSA rules apply in the US; check local regulations for international travel.
What is the Secret Capsule?
Every GPCA Carabiner has a hidden storage compartment in the gate. Open the gate, unscrew the locking ring all the way to the top — you'll find a small hollow cavity inside the closing gate. Perfect for a rolled-up emergency bill, a small pill, or fine tinder. Hidden in plain sight.
Can I attach keys to my GPCA Carabiner?
Yes. The PRO X KEY has an integrated key module built into the frame, holding up to 3 keys silently. Or add the Key Module Addon to any LITE, PRO, or X GRIP. Keys stop rattling and never get buried in a bag: gpca.com/collections/gpca-carabiner-addons
GP-1945 Bolt Action Pens — Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between GP1945 PRO and LITE?
PRO adds a tungsten steel window breaker tip, measurement tool, and spare refill. LITE has a clean open flat top and is the slimmer, simpler carry.
What are the weight differences between editions?
Aluminum is ~1.4 oz. Titanium is ~0.6 oz heavier. Stainless Steel is ~1.4 oz heavier than Aluminum.
What refill does the GP-1945 use? Can I use Parker refills?
The GP-1945 uses our GP22 compact refill or the Lamy M22. Parker refills are too long — the barrel houses the survival whistle and glass-breaker mechanics. GP22 refills are available on our site: gpca.com/collections/pens
My pen's ink isn't flowing after it arrived — is it defective?
Not defective at all. Air bubbles from shipping vibration and pressure changes in transit are completely normal. Stand the pen upright with the tip pointing down for 24–48 hours and gravity settles the ink right back. If it's still inconsistent, email hello@gpca.com with your order number and we'll send a fresh refill.
Is the GP-1945 TSA legal for carry-on?
The GP-1945 LITE (flat top) is TSA-compliant as-is — it's a non-bladed writing instrument. The PRO model has a tungsten glass-breaker tip on top which may flag at some checkpoints. For carry-on we recommend the LITE. When in doubt, check with your airline.
Cargo Covers — Frequently Asked Questions
What are GPCA cargo covers designed for?
The JL Cargo Cover fits 2018–present Jeep Wrangler JL / 4xe. The JK Cargo Cover fits 2007–2018 Jeep Wrangler JK. Both deploy without tools.
What is the difference between Cargo Cover LITE and PRO?
The PRO is an upgrade to the bestselling LITE — double-layer with MOLLE system, reversible (plain or military look), and the only version rated for highway-speed topless driving. LITE is single-layer, designed for top-on privacy use.
Can I drive topless on the highway with the cargo cover on?
Only with the PRO (double-layer). The LITE is designed for top-on use and will flap at highway speeds without a top. If you drive topless at speed regularly, the PRO is the right choice: gpca.com/collections/cargo-covers
Does the cargo cover fit the Ford Bronco Sport?
No. The Bronco Cargo Cover fits the full-size 2021+ Ford Bronco with a hardtop only. The Bronco Sport has a completely different platform and is not compatible.
Will my JK cargo cover fit my new JL Wrangler?
No. JK and JL covers are not interchangeable — they have different cargo dimensions and mounting points. Match your year at checkout: JK (2007–2018) or JL (2018+): gpca.com/collections/cargo-covers
Tie-Down Anchors & GP-Star — Frequently Asked Questions
What is the GPCA Anchor PRO?
Quick-release tie-down anchor for Jeep Wrangler — replaces factory hardtop bolts, enabling faster hardtop removal while providing versatile tie-down points for securing cargo.
How do I install the GPCA Anchor PRO?
Remove factory hardtop bolts, align with mounting holes, stack washers (rubber → metal → bolt), insert tip first, hand-tighten. No drilling required. Proper torque: 158 in-lbm per bolt — similar to a bike seat post clamp. Do not overtighten.
Are the Anchors just for hardtop removal, or do I need a hard top?
They stay in year-round regardless of top type — hard top, soft top, or topless. Once installed, they become permanent D-ring anchor points so you can hook straps, a cooler, gear bags, or recovery kit anytime you need them.
I can get D-ring bolts at Home Depot for $2 — what's the difference?
Hardware store bolts use the same M8-1.25 thread — but that's where the similarity ends. The Anchor PRO is CNC-machined with a built-in D-ring rated for tie-downs, a T-handle quick-release (tool-free, off in seconds), double-washer protection for your tub edge finish, and available in Black, Red, or Blue to color-match your build. No $2 bolt does any of that.
GP Dog Leash — Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between the Dog Leash PRO and LITE?
The PRO has the machined metal X-Clip with a 360-degree swivel — the same hardware as our Carabiner X GRIP — which doubles as a dedicated handle. Great for active dogs that spin and trail adventures. The LITE has a standard collar clip. Both use 6-core climbing rope construction, are 250 lb rated, and adjust 3–5 ft. PRO is for the adventure dogs: gpca.com/collections/dog-leash
Is the rope strong enough? My dog is 90 lbs and pulls hard.
Built for it. 6-core climbing rope with a 250 lb load rating on the PRO's X-Clip hardware. Your 90-lb puller is well within spec. The adjustable CNC grip handle gives you real control on trails too: gpca.com/collections/dog-leash
United-1 Wallet — Frequently Asked Questions
Is the United-1 Wallet RFID blocking?
The United-1 isn't RFID blocking by design — the aluminum frame gives some passive shielding but it's not engineered or rated for it. If RFID blocking matters to you, just add a thin RFID-blocking card to the stack — solves it completely: gpca.com/products/gpca-united-1-wallet
How many cards does it hold? I carry 6–8 cards.
It holds 1–9 cards. The high-friction silicone band grips a single card as firmly as a full stack, so it scales well. 6–8 puts you right in the sweet spot — slim profile, nothing flopping around: gpca.com/products/gpca-united-1-wallet
