GP Grip PRO FAQ: Everything You Need to Know

1. What is the GP Grip PRO?

The GP Grip PRO is a foldable grab handle crafted from aero-grade aluminum, specifically designed for Jeep Wrangler JK, JL (2007–2023), and JT Gladiator models. Its non-swinging design provides stability and safety while entering or exiting the vehicle.

• For earlier Jeep models (CJ YJ TJ LJ) or Jeep-type UTV, the GP Grip LITE Universal handle will fit your roll bar or rack from 1"-5.5"(max) diameter.

 

5. Is the GP Grip PRO compatible with my vehicle?

The GP Grip PRO is designed to fit Jeep Wrangler JK, JL (2007–2023), and JT Gladiator models. For 2024+ models with side curtain airbags, consider the GP Grip Air.

 

6. What tools are needed for installation?

The GP Grip PRO requires no tools for installation. It is designed to be installed using strong Velcro straps for a secure and stable fit.

 

7. How do I install the GP Grip PRO?

1. Position the Handle – Place the handle on the roll bar with the secret pocket side facing down and the arrow-end pointing back.
2. Secure the Straps – Thread the straps through the handle and back loops of the utility pouch, then fasten the Velcro on top.
3. Adjust for Stability – Fold the handle up first, tighten the straps, and press the Velcro firmly to secure.

The design is universal, it fits both the driver and passenger sides and even the rear sport bar above the cargo space, but the utility pouch installations are slightly different,

8. How do I install the GP Grip PRO on the left, right, and rear sport bar above the cargo?

• Ensure the arrow-end points toward the rear of the Jeep.
• The utility pouch should always be mounted inside the roll bar.
• On both the driver and passenger sides, the utility pouches attach to the two straps of the GP Grip PRO on the inside of the Jeep.
• For the rear passengers, you can also mount them after the top speakers. For the JK soft top, you can mount the GP-Grip behind the knob. with the flip-away feature, you will never bump your head when getting in and out and they are closer to your shoulder behind the speakers, more convenient. Get 4 or more as a set! They also fit for the cargo roll bar size as well. ( * fold the arrow end inside to fit the back window roll bar for rear passengers on JL/ JT)

For rear sport bar mounting, fold the arrow end into the main wrap for a sleek, symmetrical look. This option is great for Spiderweb shade owners, allowing easy mounting around existing straps.

9. My JL manual soft top has freedom panels over the roll bar, will the GP-Grip still fit?

Yes. You can run the straps through the part without taking it off and install the GP-Grip. ( * fold the arrow end inside to fit the back window roll bar for rear passengers on JL/ JT) 

Will the folded handle drop and block the window view again when off-roading?

The straps will need to be tightened with some good stretch when the handle is FOLDED, just one time. It could be helpful if you open the freedom panels first so you have full access. This video shows the pulling force you need.

 

10. Will the GP Grip PRO fit with a manual soft top and freedom panels?

Yes! You can feed the straps through the roll bar without removing it. For the rear window roll bar on JL/JT models, fold the arrow end inward for a better fit.

 

11. How to maintain GP-Grip grab handle and avoid it from fading and damaging?

Spray UV protectant before going topless and wash the salt water off after a beach drive. Longtime UV/ salt exposure or to the polyester material can cause de-coloring and damage over time, Depends on how much UV exposure is, Jeep owners usually wash the saltwater off if any, and apply Aerospace 303 Marine Grade protectant to our GP Grip wrap and all interior fabrics on a Jeep.

 

12. Can I mount other tools or different pouches to the GP Grip PRO?

Absolutely! The GP Grip PRO includes a reversible utility pouch that converts into a MOLLE strap system, allowing you to attach GPCA Utility Cases or third-party tool storage solutions.

 

13. I have the Sky One-Touch power top (SOT) on my Jeep, will the GP-Grip fit under it?

It's too narrow around the roll bar under the Sky One Touch Top to install the GP Grip PRO/ AIR  as mentioned on the product page, but you can still get the GP Back Grip and other Jeep accessories here
