GP 1945 Bolt Action Pen LITE

The GP 1945 is a precision-machined tactical EDC pen inspired by the WWII era. It features a satisfying bolt-action mechanism to deploy and retract the nib, a built-in multi-tone rescue whistle rated at over 100 dB, and laser-etched measurement notches on the grip for quick field measurements. Available in the PRO edition with a tungsten glass breaker tip for emergencies, or the LITE edition with a streamlined open flat-top design. The pen is TSA-compliant and comes in Aluminum, Titanium, or Stainless Steel — making it the perfect everyday carry writing tool for adventurers.

Both editions share the bolt-action mechanism, built-in multi-tone survival whistle, machined grip with measurement notches, and an extra GP22 refill included. The PRO adds a tungsten steel emergency glass breaker tip, is available in Aluminum, Titanium, and Stainless Steel, and comes in Black, Silver, and Dark Ti colors. The LITE features an open flat-top design instead of the glass breaker, making the whistle instantly accessible without unscrewing any tip. The GP 1945 uses the GPCA GP22 medium-point compact cartridge, available in black or blue ink. Each refill provides around 800-1,000 feet of writing. To replace it: retract the nib, unscrew the front section under the grip, remove the spring and old refill, place the spring on the new GP22 cartridge, feed it back in with the tip resting inside the bolt-action core, and screw the front back on. A compatible alternative is the Lamy M22 refill. Tip: if ink does not flow after shipping, stand the pen upright nib-down for a few days to clear air bubbles from transit. Yes — the hardened tungsten steel tip on the GP 1945 PRO is proven to shatter tempered auto glass. It has been tested and featured by Spotter UP and Gizmodo Japan. For best results, aim for a corner of the window rather than the center, as the glass is weakest at the edges. This makes the pen a reliable emergency escape tool you can carry every day. Note: the glass breaker tip is exclusive to the PRO edition. The LITE edition features an open flat-top design instead.

The MG-Core is an optional magnesium firestarter rod that replaces the bolt-action core inside your GP 1945 pen. When you need fire in the field, remove the MG-Core from the pen body, screw the bolt back on for a comfortable grip, and scrape magnesium shavings onto fine tinder using a rock, knife edge, or the pen's own tungsten tip. Then strike the core to throw sparks and ignite the shavings. It takes some practice, but it turns your everyday pen into a genuine survival tool. Important: always remove the MG-Core from the pen body before striking — never strike metal-on-metal while installed. Pick up the MG-Core add-on separately to complete your survival kit.

The entire pen body is machined from a single solid block of TC4 (Grade 5) aerospace-grade Titanium. TC4 offers excellent corrosion resistance and super-high strength — the same grade proven in aerospace applications. We chose TC4 over the softer TA1 grade that many other pens use because the GP 1945 has far more geometric complexity and fine details that demand a tougher material. The Titanium version features a smooth grip area that celebrates the natural beauty of the material, giving it a clean and timeless look compared to the knurled texture on the aluminum editions.
